“Kimberly, that was just BEAUTIFUL.”
Let me tell you about this “beautiful” treatment I’ve been doing.
Background:
This treatment has evolved over time, but here’s how it all began.
I have a regular patient who was coming in for her monthly “spoiling” tune-up. She is sensitive to needles, so I try to use as few needles as possible for her. Her chief complaint was digestive, emotional and menopausal issues. AcuGraph showed deficiencies in the Lung, Kidney and Liver channels, so I decided that opening the Conception Vessel (Ren) would be my best approach to treatment for her.
After treating Lung 7 and Kidney 6 bilaterally, I began palpating her body to see where she had blockages along the pathway of the Governing Vessel/Conception Vessel. My fingers naturally stuck at GV 20 on the crown of her head, at CV 17 on her chest, at CV 12 on her abdomen, and somewhere beneath the naval at about CV 3 or 4. I picked up my Red Laser and decided to supplement her four needle treatment (Lu 7 and Kidney 6) by treating these extra points. Then, as an after thought, I added Kidney 1, to tie everything together. (Figuring that GV 20 opened her to receive healing energy from above and Kidney 1 would allow her to receive it from the earth. Sometimes my mind goes esoterica like this… Bear with me here for a moment…)
Then I left the room and let the patient relax under the heat lamp. When I came back she had pretty much melted on the table, and all she could say was: “Wow, that was BEAUTIFUL.”
Moving Forward:
This patient’s results were so profound, I decided to incorporate the same laser treatment into other treatments I was doing. I had two goals:- Balance the graph, however, I saw fit that day (tonification/sedation points, back shu points, etc.).
- Treat points along the Governing Vessel and/or Conception Vessel with the red laser.
Note: The Root Chakra would physically line up with CV 1. For awhile I experimented with treating CV 2 on the pubic bone (calling it “close enough” because I didn’t want to treat CV 1 specifically). That is probably efficient, but then I looked at the internal pathways of Kidney 1 and decided I liked treating Kidney 1 better. Patients often tell me that they can feel energy moving all the way up the channel and into their lower belly region while I’m treating Kidney 1 with the laser. I’ve decided that since it crosses right through CV 1 in the process, I like it best. There is a lot of interesting research you can do if you want to study Chakras further. This blog is a basic introduction, to help you realize that treatment of points along the Conception Vessel and the Governing Vessel (Ren and the Du) match up with another beautiful theory in balancing the body–both of which are powerful. Conclusion: Lasers are BEAUTIFUL! If you:
- Haven’t tried incorporating them into your treatment, you should!
- Want to treat points without needles, they work.
- Want to supplement an acupuncture treatment with laser, that works too.
NOTE: You may want to consider having patients with chronic conditions self-treat the “Chakra” points at home–especially if there are underlying emotional components to the lingering condition. In AcuGraph you can print out a home treatment plan with pictures of all the points related to the “Chakras” so your patient can extend the work of your BEAUTIFUL treatment by self-treating daily until their next visit.

I’d love to hear your unique experiences with laser acupuncture. Go ahead and leave a comment below. The more we share our personal clinical experience, the better we all become.
