“Learning Acupuncture” (two true stories)

I love stories that illustrate life’s lessons. So here are two absolutely true stories that perfectly illustrate why we spent the last several months working on a new product to make your life easier.

True story number one: I spoke to a man halfway around the world this morning. He told me he had recently “learned acupuncture” and was busy treatingBooks1 E1311302961507 patients. 

His comments started me thinking: Is one ever really finished “learning” acupuncture? At what point is it “learned?” And what information must one master to “learn” acupuncture? I just couldn’t quite get my head around the idea that there’s ever a finish line to learning this incredible healing system. But I DO know the starting line: The most fundamental, foundational, basic knowledge one must master is the function and location of each of the acupuncture meridians, and each of the points. This basic knowledge is common to all systems and philosophies of acupuncture; it forms the basis of all the nuances of skill and wisdom that follow throughout a lifetime of study. And it’s not easy to accomplish. With over 400 specific named points on the body, each having unique functions, anatomy, purposes, attributes, and uses, the task of “learning” the points becomes a lifetime pursuit. And if you’re like most practitioners, you have a group of 20, 30, maybe even 50 points you use frequently, and as for the rest…well, you can look them up if you need them. Books2 E1311303083999

True story number two: The first time my brother visited an acupuncturist, the man sat and thumbed through books for over 10 minutes before deciding what was wrong and what to do.

And this wasn’t an inexperienced practitioner. He took a careful history, performed an examination, and then spent a long time looking through his old textbooks for a specific piece of information he needed while my brother sat and waited. Needless to say, these actions did not build my brother’s confidence and he never returned.

How are these two stories related? Like so: 

We all get into situations where we need to locate specific acupuncture information quickly and reliably–because we simply CAN’T be expected to keep it all in memory.     Good news for you, and your company.i am DANIEL AMALADOSS, NEARLY 21 YEARS IN THE FIELD, i fund new point, cure all diesease,including sugar bp, wieght reducing etc, that is only one point.

Thanks for your hard helpfull work, my comment is that i have the iPhone Points App. and as i combare between the iPhone Points App with the Points PC its the same with some other futuer in the Points PC like the search engine and the protocols and charts. So please amend and add this all Futuer to the iPhone Points App.

    1. I am glad that you are enjoying your iPhone Points App. Points PC was designed to be a program with much greater capacity than a simple app for the iPhone. My favorite aspect of Points PC is that I can type all of my college notes into the program–which then makes my Points PC program become a personalized data reference center from years of college experience.
