One Big Reason Why We do What We Do 5/5 (51)

I have spoken a lot in the past about sitting on the fence and delaying the decision to add AcuGraph to your practice. It seems like I’m regularly making the case that a large percentage of you still don’t own AcuGraph and probably should. Sometimes I feel like a broken record.

I know I talk a lot about making more money when you use AcuGraph. An average of 35% more, to be precise, based on real numbers from hundreds of real practitioners who took our survey.

Great idea, right? Who wouldn’t want to make more money?

BUT…

As I’m sure you’re aware, money isn’t the answer to everything.

In fact, for some of us, it’s not about the money at all.

I know many, if not most, acupuncturists feel drawn to this field for reasons other than money. Some simply want to help people. Others feel a spiritual calling to be a healer. Or to simply make the world a better place by reducing suffering wherever possible. Acupuncturists Without Borders is one such group I highly respect and support.

Here’s the REAL Reason why we do what we do

It’s not what we get, but what we give that’s most fulfilling in life. I love my work at Miridia Technology. However, I also find meaning in teaching and serving others outside of this little acupuncture world, too. Whether it’s teaching life skills to the boys in my son’s Boy Scout Troop or helping single-mothers get on their feet, there’s more meaning in things that aren’t financial, in my experience. I bet each of you has a similar story: some things just aren’t about money.

Using our technology often also has positive effects on the business side of things. But I hope that using our tools can also help you find fulfillment outside of your practice and your need to earn a living.

I love hearing the stories from practitioners who are so excited to let us know of a major breakthrough they had while treating someone. Or the relief they are able to provide to an otherwise untreatable end-of-life patient. I love that these experiences have MORE meaning to them than simply making ends meet in practice. I’m honored that in some small way we, too, could be a part of that. This really is the “priceless” reward for doing what we do.

In the end, this business really is more about helping individuals, blessing families and loved ones, and sharing ourselves. Oh how I wish there were a way to do that without needing to ask to be paid for what we do. Do you feel the same way? Do you ever wish you could just offer your services without asking to be paid?

How We Keep Things Running in Our Business

As we all seem to struggle with this from time to time, here are 3 things we keep in mind with our business. This is probably much the same as the way you handle yours:

  • First, we have to make a living doing what we do, or we can’t keep providing what we provide.
  • Second, we keep our prices as low as possible, and strive every day to offer you truly exceptional value for your purchase.
  • And third, we run on very thin margins. Nobody is getting rich from this business, and most years our profits are extremely small or even non-existent at times.

For all of us here at Miridia, the most fulfilling thought is that every day, all over the world, thousands of lives are improved by the use of our products. Both practitioners and patients benefit in unique ways from the combination of ancient wisdom and modern technology.

I hope that you can take a moment and sit back and think about all the lives you have blessed in your practice. Find a little extra happiness and fulfillment in that today! Nice work!

Have a great week. Also, keep an eye out for some new ideas about improving your practice and your ability to serve others by incorporating acupuncture technology.

  1. Thank you for all the support and effort you provide! I just wanted to let you know that I love my AcuGraph. I think it is a great value and worth every penny. I also really appreciate all the extras you provide – emails, support, blogs…

  2. I completely agree. I have also found great value in my acugraph and it’s actually not the financial kind. My patients are impressed by the things they see from the results. We run a clinic which specialize in intensive therapy for cancer, diabetes and other degenerative diseases and for every 3-4 patient who pay we give someone poor who can’t pay free treatment. Giving IS much more rewarding than getting and sometimes we also see the happiness in those people we help grow so much we wouldn’t want to do any other job in the world. But without some profit our clinic would simply not be able to run or buy new equipment to improve our ability to help people. Keep up the good work Miridia!
