How to Use the Extended Gender Options in AcuGraph 4.6/5 (10)

New – Extended Gender Options in AcuGraph

For some time now, we have felt the importance of offering extended gender options for patients in AcuGraph. But, the process of making that possible required us to really put our heads together. You see, graph norms change depending on a number of patient factors, including biological sex and age. So we wanted a way for practitioners to make decisions about how to view their patients’ graph information in a more inclusive way, while still retaining diagnostic accuracy.

We’re excited to share that we came up with a great solution. You can watch the screencast below to see the new option in action!

Now, when you log a new patient in AcuGraph, you have two options. If your patient currently identifies as their birth gender, you can still simply choose their birth gender. Or, if your patient has a current gender identity that’s different from their biological sex at birth, you can check a box to ‘Show Extended Gender Options.’

Once you’ve done so, you can input both the patient’s birth gender, and any other relevant information about their current gender identity.

Enable Gender Selection on Graphs

Then, for even more insight, you can check a second box to ‘Enable Gender Selection on Graphs.’ This option will allow you to toggle between male and female versions of the patient’s graphs. You’ll notice that the graph will change very subtly between versions.

With this added insight, you’ll be able to more accurately build a treatment plan that will honor the patient’s gender identity while still recognizing that their biological sex may play a role in their graph imbalances.

  1. The new options in data entry in AcuGraph are great and all-inclusive. I have a suggestion for the next update. Please make a multi-select option available for archiving patients. If such an option is not possible in the Patient List screen, an archive-by-date option can be made available, that can help archive all cases within a date period. This can help archive larger number of cases without going into each case one-by-one.

So, what do you think about it?
