And the Survey Says…

Editor’s Note: This post was written for a previous version of AcuGraph. The current version is AcuGraph CS. The clinical concepts discussed remain applicable.

First, I’d like to thank the hundreds of you who took the survey. We’ve gotten lots of great results and insights. Let me share a few highlights:
  • 40% of respondents consider AcuGraph the “Cornerstone” of their practice
  • The highest-rated benefit from using AcuGraph is “Better diagnostic information” as reported by 28% of respondents
  • The next most popular benefit is that AcuGraph “Keeps patients interested”
  • 71% of respondents use their AcuGraph system at least several times per week
That last one gives me some concern. On one hand, it’s great that so many respondents are using their AcuGraph systems frequently. But on the other hand, nearly 30% of AcuGraph owners aren’t getting the full benefit of their investment. Neither are their patients. We asked for reasons why AcuGraph isn’t used more often, and we got some interesting responses:
  • It sometimes confuses me to use the AcuGraph. I’m more used to other diagnostic approaches and other acupoints than the 5 elements.
  • I use AcuGraph when appropriate. Some patients want hands-on acupuncture with pulse and tongue diagnosis, some appreciate the digital approach.
  • I need to more fully understand how to use the system. And I need more explanation…I want to be assured of the credibility of the results.
  • I need to review more treated cases to convince my patients.
and my favorite…
  • Stupidity      (yes, that’s what someone actually wrote.)
Dr. Larsen Teaches AcuGraph Seminar Training in Europe The one common factor for all the reasons given is a lack of knowledge or understanding about how to use and apply AcuGraph in a particular situation. And that’s good news because that’s an area where I can help. In fact, that’s great news, because I can do more than just fill in the missing knowledge. I’ll tell you all the details tomorrow…
