Let me first pose this question:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Will the graph change if a person is bitten by a Hobo Spider?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Yes&#8211;the graph will <strong>ABSOLUTELY<\/strong> change because of a venomous spider bite, and by all means it should! Not only did the graph change for this patient, but it actually showed <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">WHICH chann<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">el was affected<\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">WHICH side of the body<\/span> the patient received the bite.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-8923\" title=\"Hobo Spider\" src=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Hobo-Spider-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"120\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Before we jump into this graph analysis, I want to talk about a concern that SOME practitioners have shared when researching AcuGraph.<\/p>\n<p>Practitioners want to know whether or not AcuGraph is <em>really<\/em> accurate. This is a fair question. Why would you want to buy AcuGraph if it didn&#8217;t give an accurate analysis of the meridian systems?<\/p>\n<p>Occasionally, I talk to an argumentative practitioner who <em>thinks<\/em> that AcuGraph is not accurate because graphing results can change with &#8220;life circumstances.&#8221; They ask questions like these:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Will the graph change if a person has just exercised?<\/li>\n<li>What if a person is taking medications? Will this change the graph analysis?<\/li>\n<li>If a person is emotionally or physically stressed, will the graph change?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>My answer is: <strong>YES<\/strong>, readings will change with life circumstances. This concerns some practitioners, because they are misinformed\u2013thinking that if the graph changes, then AcuGraph must not be accurate.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll have to admit, an argument like this makes me scratch my head and wonder whether or not the practitioner was really trained in TCM&#8230; Almost anything can change the dynamics of how energy flows through the body&#8211;an injury, emotions, medications, food choices, etc. Isn&#8217;t that the point of Acupuncture? We treat the imbalances that are present at the time of treatment\u2013along with underlying chronic patterns. When the body is out of balance it doesn&#8217;t function at full capacity. Our job, as practitioners, is to help put the body back into balance &#8220;when LIFE happens&#8221;\u2013so the body can heal itself.<\/p>\n<p>So, let&#8217;s take a look at how the spider bite manifested on the graph&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Screen-Shot-2012-11-21-at-1.11.55-PM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8884\" title=\"Screen Shot 2012-11-21 at 1.11.55 PM\" src=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Screen-Shot-2012-11-21-at-1.11.55-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"631\" height=\"328\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Screen-Shot-2012-11-21-at-1.11.55-PM.png 1232w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Screen-Shot-2012-11-21-at-1.11.55-PM-300x156.png 300w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Screen-Shot-2012-11-21-at-1.11.55-PM-1024x532.png 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 631px) 100vw, 631px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Can you tell which channel was closest to the bite?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Is it obvious to you that he was bitten on his left arm?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This patient typically comes in for a monthly tune-up for treatment of neck and shoulder tension with some underlying Liver and Kidney Yin deficiency. Three weeks before this visit he was bitten by a Hobo Spider. The arm looked like it was back to normal, but the graph revealed post-trauma channel stagnation from excess toxins that were lingering in the arm.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/spider-bite-case-study.jpg\" alt=\"spider bite case study\" width=\"564\" height=\"1410\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-size: medium;\"><strong>How I treated:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Screen-Shot-2012-11-28-at-11.56.49-AM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8894\" title=\"Screen Shot 2012-11-28 at 11.56.49 AM\" src=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Screen-Shot-2012-11-28-at-11.56.49-AM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"330\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Screen-Shot-2012-11-28-at-11.56.49-AM.png 1230w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Screen-Shot-2012-11-28-at-11.56.49-AM-300x157.png 300w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Screen-Shot-2012-11-28-at-11.56.49-AM-1024x536.png 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>STEP 1:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">As always, I began by looking at the Yin\/Yang graph to determine treatment.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First, I treated HT 5 and PC 6 (Luo points).<\/li>\n<li>I also treated SP 3 (source point). In my opinion, the Spleen channel was on the low side, and I knew that the Spleen needed to be stronger in order to help clear the toxins out of his system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>STEP 2:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Next, I look at the yang channels and decide that the GB and LI were my main two priorities.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I chose GB 38 to sedate the channel.<\/li>\n<li>Next, I chose Ashi points along the left Large Intestine channel to help move stagnation: LI 4, 7, 10, 11, 12, 14.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>STEP 3:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Additional TCM points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SP 6, ST 36: Strengthen the Spleen&#8217;s ability to transport toxins for elimination.<\/li>\n<li>LI 11: To clear toxicity<\/li>\n<li>LV 3: To clear toxicity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional tendinomuscular points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>GB 21 and SI 11: Shoulder tension<\/li>\n<li>Bilateral ear seeds: Shoulder Pain protocol from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.auriculo360.com\/\">Auriculo 360<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Detecting stagnation in the Large Intestine channel was a very important element of treatment for this patient. As we know, stagnation lingering in the channel after trauma can cause substantial health problems in the future. AcuGraph allowed me to <strong>SEE<\/strong> how the spider bite affected his Large Intestine channel.<\/p>\n<p>Never underestimate the importance of graph analysis for <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">every<\/span> patient.
