Believe it or not, this is actually a sticking point for some potential patients. <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><strong>Second,<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"> the Screening Module creates the printed \u2018Screening Report.\u2019 This report compares the potential patient\u2019s results with an optimal graph result and graphically displays the need for treatment. Best of all, this report is just one page and is easily customized with your unique practice information, description and philosophy. <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><strong>It even includes the patient\u2019s follow-up appointment time.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"> It\u2019s the most important thing the potential patient needs to receive from his or her first encounter with you.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The Screening Module is a &#8216;P<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">ower Tool&#8217; and it takes practice to use it right!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6018\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6018\" style=\"width: 402px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screeing-Exam-add-patient.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-6018 \" title=\"Screeing Exam add patient\" src=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screeing-Exam-add-patient.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"402\" height=\"251\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screeing-Exam-add-patient.jpg 956w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screeing-Exam-add-patient-300x187.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 402px) 100vw, 402px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6018\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">&#8220;Add Patient&#8221; screen<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">It starts when you\u2019re adding the details of the person you\u2019re about to screen. Use this as an opportunity to gather ALL of the critical data you need to develop a relationship with this individual. <strong>DO NOT SKIP THROUGH THIS&#8230;this is GOLD<\/strong> and key to improving your practice! You will have ALL of their pertinent information, allowing you to send them a thank you card, birthday card, email or phone call! You can send them an invite via Facebook or give them incentive to follow you on Twitter!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">As you talk with the prospect, enter little notes in the box marked by the arrow. Notes like: \u201cBlonde, nice sandals, son in soccer, frequent headaches, never tried Acu\u201d are the best. You\u2019ll see so many people at an event that you WILL NOT remember their details\u2026I like to type them in at this stage, so it doesn&#8217;t interfere with setting the appointment. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Once you\u2019ve gotten to know them a bit, ask them to take their watch or jewelry off, then start your exam. Quickly explain what an Acupuncture Meridian is and what the equipment is doing. Here are a couple of my favorite explanations:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">\u201c<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">The test I\u2019m going to do will send a small electrical signal through your Acupuncture Meridians. These meridians are the primary conduits of energy through your body. If there is a block or an imbalance we\u2019ll see it on the screen when I\u2019m done.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201c<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">The meridian system consists of more than 400 points and 20 meridians connecting most of the points. Think of it like an Interstate highway connecting the\u00a0dots on a map. These dots are the &#8216;freeway interchanges&#8217; for energy in your body. I\u2019m going to test and see if you have any traffic jams on your \u201cEnergy Highways.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6020\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6020\" style=\"width: 430px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Exam.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-6020 \" title=\"Screening Exam\" src=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Exam-1024x536.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Exam-1024x536.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Exam-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Exam.jpg 1278w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6020\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Exam &#8211; In &#8216;Screening Mode&#8217;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Next, you\u2019ll conduct the exam.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; color: #333333;\">After you enter a new patient and click on &#8216;Exam&#8217; you will need to click the &#8216;Screening Mode&#8217; icon at the bottom right of the screen. Once clicked, the lower body exam boxes go away and the blue &#8216;Screening Mode Active&#8217; box appears.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #00ae00;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">You are now ready to begin Screening. <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">I recommend moving quickly through each point. Save any discussion until later when you&#8217;re reviewing the graph with the prospect.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6022\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6022\" style=\"width: 405px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Graph.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-6022 \" title=\"Screening Graph\" src=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Graph-1024x538.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"405\" height=\"213\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Graph-1024x538.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Graph-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Graph.jpg 1277w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 405px) 100vw, 405px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6022\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Screening &#8211; Upper Body Exam<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">When the exam is completed, it will pull up the &#8216;baseline graph&#8217; that you&#8217;re familiar with, though, only the upper body will be showing. The prospect will be looking at the chart and will want to know what it means. Quickly explain that the horizontal Red, Green and Blue bars indicate her normal range. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">In the graph to the right, you can point out that the green bars indicate normal functioning, however three of their meridians are having problems. Don&#8217;t go into too much detail at this point. Click on the deficient, excessive or split bars in the graph and talk with her about where these meridians are located and what physical issues she might be experiencing. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #00ae00;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">We WANT them to associate the graph with parts of their body and how they are feeling!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6025\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6025\" style=\"width: 430px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Exam-pg-2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-6025 \" title=\"Screening Exam pg 2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Exam-pg-2-1024x537.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Exam-pg-2-1024x537.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Exam-pg-2-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Exam-pg-2.jpg 1278w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6025\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Show the Channel on their Body<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Take a couple of minutes to show them! Clicking on the bars in the graph bring up an image like the one on the right. It lists the name of the channel and shows the points. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">At this point, ask questions that will help you understand why her channel (in this case the Lung) might be deficient, excessive or split. Quickly move through each dysfunctional meridian, pulling up a picture and discussing it.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Now you&#8217;re coming to the end of your screening. As you print out the screening cover page and report say something like this: <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">\u201c<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Now Jane, can you see how important it is to have a complete exam where we can see the meridians for your lower body as well?\u201d (brief pause)\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">\u201cI&#8217;ve set aside two days next week to complete your exam in my office at no charge. What day works better for you, Tuesday or Thursday?\u201d (Don&#8217;t speak until the prospect does) Jane says: \u201cThursday.\u201d Have your Week-at-a-Glance appointment book on the table and together pick a time. <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6030\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6030\" style=\"width: 319px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Report-pg-2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-6030 \" title=\"Screening Report pg 2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Report-pg-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"319\" height=\"416\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Report-pg-2.jpg 499w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Screening-Report-pg-2-230x300.jpg 230w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 319px) 100vw, 319px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6030\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Customize the information on this report in the Preference section of AcuGraph<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #00ae00;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">You&#8217;ve just completed a Screening Exam and gained a new patient!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">With a little practice, it will come naturally to you and your confidence will grow. Remember the three keys to setting the appointment:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">1. Believe in your ability to help this person. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">This unwavering conviction in your treatments makes ALL the difference. Remember, this person has been suffering and they\u2019ve probably lost hope! They need to find hope in your eyes!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">2. Be skilled at discussing what the graph shows. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">This is your chance to use the results of the graph, what they\u2019ve told you and your clinical experience. Draw on your TCM training to explain what might be causing the problem with their meridian channel. Give them the confidence that they WILL receive relief through YOUR treatments!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">3. Be unwavering in setting the appointment. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">These people NEED you. You WILL help them. Move confidently forward as if it is already a foregone conclusion that they will.\u00a0<strong>Don\u2019t plead with them to come see you. <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">I&#8217;ve heard \u00a0practitioners make the mistake of asking for the appointment like this:<\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"> \u201cI&#8217;d really like to do a full exam on you if you could come by my office next week. Is there a day that would be good for you?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>It&#8217;s more productive to say it like this: <\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201c<em>Jane, after reviewing your graph and hearing your symptoms, I\u2019m confident I can help you. I\u2019ve set aside time next week to meet with new patients, which would you prefer, Tuesday morning or Thursday afternoon?<\/em>\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; color: #008800;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008800;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">The AcuGraph Screening Module is an effective tool that will deliver new patients when used at public events. <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Plain and simple.
