This morning I was at my weekly networking event. Each week I get 45 seconds to talk about my business and present something memorable and interesting about acupuncture.\u00a0 The purpose of the group is for me to teach my colleagues about what I do in my clinic, so they can easily refer patients. There is an ongoing joke about being nervous to sit next to Kimberly, because: “You never know what she is going to talk about. Her subject may leave you at a loss for words and you may not be able to pull yourself together when following her.” Well–today was one of those days. My subject was hemorrhoids.<\/p>\n

This is what I said:<\/p>\n

How many of you know people who have hemorrhoids? Probably not many of you, because it is not a typical conversation that you have with colleagues and business associates. But I guarantee you that occasionally this ‘hushed’ subject will come up and you will hear of a close friend or family member who is suffering from this problem. It is important for you to know that acupuncture is an amazing resource for treating hemorrhoids. Just to ease your mind, you should also know that needles are placed in distal locations, not even remotely close to the area of pain, and hemorrhoids can be alleviated almost immediately.<\/p>\n

Recently I came across an article in Acupuncture Today about an amazing one-minute acupuncture treatment for hemorrhoids that I would like to share with you.<\/p>\n

Effective One-Point, One-Minute Hemorrhoid Treatment<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h4>\n

I can’t wait to try this new technique. I already have great results by treating points such as Governing Vessel (Du) 20, Urinary Bladder 57 and\/or 58, and the auricular points such as Rectum, Anus, and Hemorrhoids.<\/p>\n

Talking to your patients regularly about your treatment methods for hemorrhoids is a great idea so that they can easily refer patients to your office in the future. This is especially effective with your female patients. I don’t know why, but females talk about this kind of stuff to their friends without even batting an eye. You can easily use the subject of hemorrhoids as an advantage in your networking. I have found that educating your patients about how they can refer new patients to you is very beneficial.<\/p>\n

By the way–at the end of that networking event, I had about five different people come up to talk to me about new patients that they would like to refer. None of them were related to hemorrhoids–but at least I knew that I made a lasting impression on the group.<\/p>\n
