\"Developing\"<\/a>The Need is Great.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\r\nAs you know, acupuncture is greatly under-represented in the healthcare delivery systems of most developed nations.<\/strong> Opting instead for western-style allopathic medicine, many countries overspend and under deliver on healthcare. The result has little to do with health, and is actually “sick care.” There is little offered until the patient is sick, and then the intervention is likely to make the patient sicker. You know this story.\r\n\r\nBut what about in developing nations<\/span> where expensive western medicine is less available?<\/strong> These are exactly the markets that could benefit most from the safe, effective and inexpensive use of acupuncture. Unfortunately, these are also the markets where acupuncture has even less representation than it does in so-called “developed” nations.\r\n\r\nBut there are a few brave practitioners who struggle on in these areas, serving their patients as best they can, often for little or no pay. Sometimes they reach out to us for help.\r\n\r\nThey tell us stories of treating the poor, of helping people who have nowhere else to turn, and often of very long days and heavy patient loads. They sometimes ask us to donate equipment, and in the past, we’ve tried to do what we could. But it wasn’t enough.\r\n\r\nSo today, we’re proud to announce our AcuGraph Developing Nation Donation Program<\/strong>.<\/a><\/span> This formalized donation program provides a framework for needy clinics in developing nations to apply for donation of AcuGraph equipment and training. The program also gives us an integrated method of gathering information about deserving clinics and practitioners in developing nations who will benefit most from receiving AcuGraph equipment and training.\r\n

How does it work?<\/span><\/h2>\r\nIt’s really very simple. We invite practitioners and clinics in developing nations to apply directly on our Donation Program page<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. The submission form there collects all the needed information and helps us verify the legitimacy of the request. Once we’ve developed a pool of worthy applicants, we’ll begin selecting recipients and making donations as finances permit. The only request we make in return is that recipients of our equipment and training keep us posted as to their use of AcuGraph and the results they’re obtaining.\r\n\r\nDo you know of a worthy practitioner or clinic in a developing nation?
