By the time they come in, they can\u2019t sleep and they aren\u2019t functioning well at work or with their families. They often feel overwhelmed, stressed and afraid. In their logical minds, they may know what to do. Unfortunately, logic doesn&#8217;t help much in these situations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But when I look at adults with anxiety versus teens, there&#8217;s an important difference.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The saddest anxiety patients I have seen are young teens.<\/strong> It&#8217;s really heart wrenching. Moms have been calling me in desperation, hoping acupuncture can help. These kids don\u2019t have a clue what anxiety is\u2026. <strong>All of a sudden the symptoms hit them HARD, and they crumble.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>They are afraid.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/li><li>It feels like a knife is stabbing them in the chest.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/li><li>They can\u2019t catch their breath.<\/li><li>Their heart feels huge. It feels like it is exploding up into their throat and down into their belly.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/li><li>They have a stomachache.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/li><li>It feels like they can\u2019t breath.<\/li><li>They cry out in desperation to their moms.&nbsp;<\/li><li>They feel like they are going to die.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Anxiety is REALLY hard. It&#8217;s hard for the person going through the experience. And<strong> it&#8217;s especially hard on the mommas who cry while they hold their babies through the night<\/strong>\u2013-helping them to breathe, stroking their foreheads, rocking them, and trying to reassure them that everything is going to be all right.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately anxiety is on the rise. In fact, studies show that cases of <strong>anxiety have risen 30% in the last year<\/strong>. It\u2019s affecting everyone. We have to be prepared.&nbsp;Let me ask you this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Are you good at treating anxiety?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">It&#8217;s 2020. <strong>You need to be good at treating anxiety.<\/strong>&nbsp;In my experience, it takes more than just a list of <em>\u201cthe best acupuncture points EVER&#8221;<\/em> for treating anxiety.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;There isn&#8217;t a magical list.&nbsp;You need more.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">In this blog post I&#8217;m&nbsp;going to share the multi-faceted treatment modality approach that I use in&nbsp;my clinic. It works. I get&nbsp;great results.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>SIDE NOTE:<\/strong> Make sure you <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">read all the way to the end<\/span>.<strong> I also give you TWO really great resources.<\/strong> One is for YOU to get more FREE AcuGraph training. I&#8217;ve found that I can also differentiate between when a patient is actively experiencing anxiety, and when they have a tendency towards anxiety.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><b>Excess in the Heart and\/or Pericardium pathways: <\/b>Typically this means the patient has been experiencing anxiety &#8220;lately&#8221;.<\/li><li><b>Deficiency in the Heart and\/or Pericardium pathways: <\/b>Typically this indicates the patient has a tendency towards anxiety, but perhaps they have it under control at the moment. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/2020\/10\/anxiety-mom-it-feels-like-im-going-to-die\/screen-shot-2020-10-19-at-4-12-45-pm\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-24777\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1078\" height=\"1112\" src=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Screen-Shot-2020-10-19-at-4.12.45-PM.png\" alt=\"anxiety in the meridians\" class=\"wp-image-24777\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Screen-Shot-2020-10-19-at-4.12.45-PM.png 1078w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Screen-Shot-2020-10-19-at-4.12.45-PM-291x300.png 291w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Screen-Shot-2020-10-19-at-4.12.45-PM-993x1024.png 993w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Screen-Shot-2020-10-19-at-4.12.45-PM-768x792.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1078px) 100vw, 1078px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Take a look at the internal pathways of the Pericardium and Heart Pathways.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span>Utilizing the graphics within AcuGraph&nbsp;is a great way to visualize the areas where the patient may be feeling the physical symptoms of anxiety.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regardless of whether or not I see excess, deficiency, or a split in these pathways, I simply treat what I find. Eighty percent of a patient&#8217;s symptoms can be resolved by simply balancing the graph. If you want to take care of the other 20% you need more resources&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Keep reading. I&#8217;m going to show you how to kick your treatment up a notch! (or two).<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Step 2: Auriculotherapy<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After I balance the graph, I like to add auriculotherapy to solidify my treatment. Auriculotherapy is good as a stand alone treatment but it\u2019s GREAT when I combine it with meridian balancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s my favorite auricular protocol for anxiety, from the Auriculo 360 software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.auriculo360.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><span style=\"color:#0083bb\" class=\"tadv-color\">You can purchase Auriculo 360 here &gt;&gt;<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"702\" height=\"723\" src=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/1-Anxiety-Protocol-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25363\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/1-Anxiety-Protocol-1.png 702w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/1-Anxiety-Protocol-1-291x300.png 291w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 702px) 100vw, 702px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Step 3: Traditional Chinese Herbs Based on TCM Pattern Differentiation<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you figure out the underlying TCM pattern, and treat with traditional Chinese herbal formulas, you will get the <strong>BEST<\/strong> results. Anxiety can be caused by either an excess or a deficiency pattern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>EXCESS<\/strong> TCM patterns related to anxiety may include:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Liver Qi Stagnation<\/li><li>Liver Yang Yang Rising<\/li><li>Heart Phlegm<\/li><li>Liver Fire<\/li><li>Stomach Fire<\/li><li>Heart Phlegm<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DEFICIENCY<\/strong> TCM patterns related to anxiety may include:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Qi Deficiency<\/li><li>Blood Deficiency<\/li><li>Yin Deficiency<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As you can see, <strong>not all anxiety patients are created equal<\/strong>. Each patient is unique. When you have the tools and resources to offer a multi-faceted custom treatment\u2013based on their body and their specific TCM pattern\u2013you will get BETTER results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Good isn&#8217;t good enough right now.<\/strong> When you get the phone call about a patient who feels like they are going to die because of their anxiety, you want to be able to offer them the BEST.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before I close, I have a couple of important things to share with you.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><b>Important Thing #1&#8230;<\/b><\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">AcuGraph Hangout: Using Chinese Medicine <br>to Help Stress and Anxiety<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday, October 15th, we hosted a <strong>free, live class<\/strong> about treating stress and anxiety with acupuncture.
