\"training\"Many of you have known me for a long time. I\u2019m always amazed when I travel and run into people who follow me because of the work I do with Miridia Technology. When Adrian hired me, so many years back, he told me that beyond doing research for our products\u2014I had the ability to uniquely<\/i> create my position into whatever I envisioned.<\/p>\n

Since you are an integral part of this story, I\u2019d like to share what\u2019s happened over the years.<\/p>\n

The biggest thing is that I have GROWN.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I started out as a pompous TCM know-it-all.<\/p>\n

I had tunnel vision.<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t understand that there are many different styles of acupuncture. I thought what I learned from school was the end-all-be-all.<\/p>\n

What Changed<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Since then I have studied SOOOO many different forms of acupuncture. I have learned, through experience, that classic TCM style acupuncture does not bring amazing results. Once I changed my treatment strategies my whole world as an acupuncturist changed.<\/p>\n

I went from treating 5 patients a week to an absolutely fuller-than-full schedule, with a one month waiting list for new patients.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Patients are willing to wait to get in with me because I get good results and they trust my unique style of diagnosis and treatment. In the beginning I hoped that someday I\u2019d be successful. There were so many starving acupuncturists in the world when I graduated college and I didn\u2019t want to be one of them.<\/p>\n

Now, I run a cash practice and patients pay up front for six visits at a time without batting an eye. Talk about growth!<\/strong><\/p>\n

My own personal growth was the driving source behind the metamorphosis of the position I hold now. What started out as a simple research job to earn a few extra bucks while I was building my practice turned into a mission to help other acupuncturist to become successful<\/b>.<\/p>\n

I wear a lot of different hats at Miridia now\u2014blog posts, Acupuncture Today articles, graph analysis, new product development, writing, practitioner consultation and mentoring, interviews, college liaison, social media moderator, teaching videos, monthly webinars, and LEARNING<\/b>.<\/p>\n

\"training\"I Love LEARNING!<\/b><\/h2>\n

Honestly, the drive to continually learn has been the key to my success.<\/p>\n

There are two kinds of learning.<\/p>\n

One is reading articles, searching blog posts, watching online training videos and trying to find that one needle in the haystack\u2013that one piece of actionable information you’re looking for amidst all the fluff.<\/p>\n

You’ve done that too, right?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We all do it. But there\u2019s something missing from the “sit in your chair at home in your pajamas” type of learning experience.<\/p>\n

You just can\u2019t google your way to becoming an amazing acupuncturist.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The other type of learning is real life, face-to-face learning. This type is my FAVORITE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Here’s my list of top 4 reasons I prefer live training over anything online:<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Changing your environment clears your mind.<\/b> The magical learning happens when you walk away from your clinic, your house, your family, your life. You have to take time for yourself and create an empty space in your brain for learning something new.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Live interaction is key to learning. <\/b>How many times have you watched a video, read a blog post, and still had questions? Live interaction lets the flow of learning become unique to your own needs. When I learn from a teacher personally, I REALLY learn.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. You can\u2019t learn touchy feely stuff by watching a video.<\/b> Hands on practical learning is so key to developing technique. There is nothing like experiencing the results happening right under your fingertips when practicing on a demo patient. I remember so many experiences of learning to feel qi under my fingertips while practicing in a classroom setting with an instructor by my side. You just can\u2019t do that with a blog post or a video or even a phone conversation.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Colleagues make you stronger. <\/b>There is something extroardinary that happens when you submerge yourself in the amazing spiral of energy that happens when a bunch of healers come together in one place. It’s magical. It’s powerful. When you leave the training event, the power and magic comes with you. I have met some of the most incredible people over the years. They have helped me become who I am today.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Like I said, the magical learning happens when you walk away from your clinic, put your butt in a seat, rub shoulders with other practitioners, ask questions, and get answers that are very specific to your needs. <\/strong><\/p>\n

    You can\u2019t get the hands on, practical “touchy-feely-try-it experience” unless you show up<\/strong> and submerge yourself.<\/p>\n

    You can’t just keep dipping your toes in the water if you want to get better results. You have to do something different.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    I\u2019ve been showing up to the live events for years. That is how I have met so many of you. It\u2019s why I have amazing mentors.\u00a0It\u2019s how I have learned to become my very best version of me.<\/p>\n

    The bottom line is if you rely on the internet and never show up, or take your training to that next level, you are absolutely missing out on learning what is actually holding you back from reaching your goals.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    You can’t keep doing the exact same thing and expect to get the same results. You’ve been to many of the other trainings year after year. It’s time to make a change in the right direction.
