If you are prone to nausea, vomiting, morning sickness, or sea sickness\u2013Pericardium 6 (PC 6) is the acupuncture point to remember. It is easily found between the tendons about 3 finger widths above the wrist, and it’s a very simple and effective self-treatment point. Sometimes patients will wear a device called a nausea band, which is simply a bracelet which has a ball in the center. The ball is placed at Pericardium 6 and the patient then places pressure at the point to help with nausea and vomiting. It’s just as easy, and effective, to put your thumb directly on the point with steady pressure. Patients often notice that nausea is resolved immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This point is also really great for emotions such as anxiety, panic and mania. The treatment is the same. Just use your thumb to apply direct pressure while you take a few deep breaths. The reason Pericardium 6 is so effective for emotions and nausea is because the internal pathway goes right through the chest, the heart and the upper belly. These are the exact areas we feel overwhelmed when nausea and\/or anxiety manifest in the body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I suggest you learn this point. It can help you personally, and it can help you inadvertently. You never know when you are going to be sitting next to someone on a plane who is about to throw up. Knowing Pericardium 6 could be just the point that make the flight enjoyable for everyone involved!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
