How you bill is strictly your\u00a0business and your responsibility. We cannot be held responsible for how you use this\u00a0information. Use at your own risk, your own discretion, and subject to your own references,\u00a0professional advice, and insurance contracts.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Now that we\u2019re clear on that, here\u2019s what we hear most users are doing:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Bill under an exam code as part of an exam or office visit. Most commonly you would use:<strong>99201<\/strong> or<strong> 99202<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">New Patient Exam<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>99211<\/strong> or <strong>99212<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Established Patient Exam<\/span> <em>(you may need to <strong>add modifier \u201325 to signify that this is\u00a0a significant<\/strong>, separately identifiable service)<\/em>Please make sure that your office visit meets the correct requirements for the above codes, including\u00a0time spent, complexity of decision making, history, examination, severity of situation, etc. Consult\u00a0your insurance reference book or billing professional for more information.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Bill the AcuGraph\u00ae exam directly to the patient as a non-covered service, and bill insurance for\u00a0the treatment, if it meets the correct guidelines. Common treatment billing codes include:<strong>97014<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Unattended Electric Stim.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>97032<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Attended Electric Stim.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>97810<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Acupuncture<\/span> <em>(requires insertion of one or more needles)<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>97813<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Acupuncture with electric stim<\/span> <em>(requires insertion of one or more needles and electric stim)<\/em>Again, your particular provider may not reimburse the above codes. We urge you to check with your\u00a0insurance provider and\/or your billing professional.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Fees:<\/h4>\n<p>There are a few\u00a0schools of thought on charging fees for an AcuGraph exam.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Cash Fees that are charged every time you perform an exam:\u00a0<strong>AcuGraph\u00ae exam fees like this range from<\/strong> <strong>$25-$75<\/strong>, <strong>with $30-50 being the most common<\/strong>. Charges for treatment are in addition to these fees. Most users report patients are generally very willing to pay for\u00a0the examination and resulting report. Keeping the fee affordable allows you to perform the exam\u00a0more often, which helps your patients and helps you.
