Did you know that AcuGraph 5 lets you customize your graph results to match the way you treat? In a nutshell, you can change the channel!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Great!\u00a0So what does that mean?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Funny you should ask, that’s what I thought\u00a0when Kimberly first brought up this idea! Here’s the quick summary:<\/p>\n

Suppose in your graph results, you have a channel that’s showing normal, but one reading is borderline high, and the other is really high. Instead of calling it normal, maybe you want to recognize and treat this meridian as excessive.<\/p>\n

Or, perhaps you have\u00a0a split meridian\u00a0with both readings really high. Is it a split, or do you want to treat it as an excessive meridian?<\/p>\n

In AcuGraph 5, you can\u00a0tweak the graph to more closely reflect the readings as you see them in your analysis. And when you make changes, the treatment recommendations are also updated to reflect what you’ve changed.<\/p>\n

Yeah, but why would I ever want to do this? Doesn’t this make the graph inaccurate?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Actually, this is a really great\u00a0tool for making your graph findings MORE\u00a0accurately focused in on what you are emphasizing\u00a0in your analysis. It also helps patients to see that while the computer is identifying some borderline readings a certain way, because of what you’re seeing, you are adapting it specifically to them for their pattern that day. This feature lets you more\u00a0accurately track what you are seeing and focusing on in a given visit. In a sense, this is actually a more accurate use of the graph.<\/p>\n

Okay, I get it now, so how do I do it?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Let me show it to you in action…<\/p>\n

Notice in this graph that the TE channel is barely high on the left and the right is pretty close as well. We don’t need to treat this channel, so let’s mark it as “normal.” To do this, simply click on the graph bars to reveal this image:<\/p>\n

On the top right, we will check the box for “Normal” to mark this as the new Channel Status. Then close the window to return to the graph.<\/p>\n

Now we see that the TE channel is showing as normal, and notice that the treatment recommendation has disappeared as well. Let’s do the same for the ST channel, which is also barely high.<\/p>\n

That’s better! Now, notice the indicator in the top right corner of the graph (the delta triangle) that indicates that the original readings have been overridden and manually updated for this graph. Clicking that icon will reveal details about what has changed, as seen here:<\/p>\n

So, there you have it! That’s how you can use the custom channel statuses in AcuGraph 5!<\/p>\n
