She couldn&#8217;t stop crying. She wished she could run away from everything and everyone.<\/p>\n<p>And she even said she wished her life could just end, although she knew that wasn&#8217;t an option.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Patient Education<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I&#8217;m so glad she had the wisdom to call me. I&#8217;d taught her over the years that whatever discomfort she experiences in her body is always related to a meridian imbalance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15048\" src=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Meridian-Imbalances.png\" alt=\"Meridian Imbalances\" width=\"400\" height=\"414\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Meridian-Imbalances.png 744w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Meridian-Imbalances-289x300.png 289w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Emotions can either be the cause or the effect of an imbalance in the meridians.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Cause:<\/strong> If there is a physical blockage in a meridian for too long, the emotion associated with that meridian then becomes out of balance as well.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Effect:<\/strong> If someone experiences long-term emotional problems\u2014such as clinical depression, anger-management issues, grief from the passing of a loved one, etc.\u2014physical symptoms will surely follow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Clinical Experience<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I love treating emotions because they are so easy to shift.<\/p>\n<p>Patients love when I&#8217;m able to analyze the graph and say things like this, without them telling me their chief complaint:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;Wow\u2014it looks like you&#8217;ve been angry.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;I&#8217;m guessing you&#8217;ve had a lot of anxiety lately.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>They have learned that the graph doesn&#8217;t lie!<\/p>\n<p>Simply balancing the graph is enough to take care of 80% of the patient&#8217;s present emotional condition. Knowing a few extra classical key points is enough to often get 100% relief.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Case Study<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Chief complaint:<\/strong> Extreme emotions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This is the patient I was speaking about above.<\/li>\n<li>Uncontrollable crying, grief, anxiety, and worry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>History:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>62-year-old female.<\/li>\n<li>Recent, two-week bout with an upper respiratory infection. Lingering phlegm and sinus congestion. Yellow sputum.<\/li>\n<li>Recent UTI. Lingering kidney area pressure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tongue:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Red, dry, thick yellow coat (middle to back). Quivers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Graph Analysis:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acugraph.com\/demonstration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15067 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Graph1.jpg\" alt=\"Graph1\" width=\"708\" height=\"593\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Graph1.jpg 708w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Graph1-300x251.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 708px) 100vw, 708px\" \/><\/a>Let me tell you what I see in this graph from the perspective of the &#8220;By Element&#8221; view.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Metal<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Physical<\/em>:<\/strong> She has excess in both the Lung and the Large Intestine. Her lingering upper respiratory infection and phlegm in the lung are present here.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Emotional<\/em>:<\/strong> The emotion of the Lung is grief. She was having family relationship issues with the very real likelihood that she might lose contact with a family member.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Fire<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Physical<\/strong><\/em>: There is a deficiency in the Heart. She doesn&#8217;t typically have a deficiency here, but it makes sense if you look at the graph according to the flow of energy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acugraph.com\/demonstration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15073 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Energy-Cycle.png\" alt=\"Energy Cycle\" width=\"721\" height=\"548\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Energy-Cycle.png 721w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Energy-Cycle-300x228.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 721px) 100vw, 721px\" \/><\/a>Because so much energy is being held in the Lung, Large Intestine and the Stomach\u2014the Heart is not getting what it needs.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Emotional<\/em>:<\/strong> Anxiety is the emotion of the Fire element. Because the heart is deficient, her tendency toward anxiety is increased.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Earth<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Physical<\/strong><\/em>: The Stomach channel runs right through the chest. Because of the constant crying, she is hanging onto energy there.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Emotional<\/strong><\/em>: Worry is the emotion of the Earth element. Obviously she has spent many hours worrying about her current family situation.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Water<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Physical<\/strong><\/em>: Life source energy is stored in the Kidney. She is 62 and works full-time. Her Kidney channel has a tendency toward deficiency anyway, the extra wear and tear she has been experiencing lately has drained her reserves.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Emotional<\/strong><\/em>: Fear is the emotion that surfaces when the Water element is deficient. Earth is her lowest element in this graph. Fear is the biggest emotion she is feeling.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Treatment<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> <\/span>To balance the graph, I focused on the yin meridians first.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Heart Deficiency:<\/span><\/strong> HT 7\u2014I chose the source point because it also has a strong effect on emotions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Kidney Deficiency:<\/strong> KI 3\u2014I chose the source point again, because it has a strong effect on source qi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Lung Excess:<\/strong>\u00a0LU 5\u2014I chose the sedation point.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Step 2:<\/strong> <\/span>I palpated the yang meridians to see what was happening tendinomusclarly. Each of these pathways were <em>full<\/em> and tender to palpation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Triple Energizer Split:<\/strong> TE 5\u2014I chose the Luo point because the channel was split, and also because TE 5 helps strongly with the distribution of hormones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Large Intestine Excess:<\/strong> LI 10, LI 12\u2014I chose these points because they were ashi and I knew they would also help resolve the tension in her shoulders that had accumulated from crying. *These are great points to open the Large Intestine tendinouscular meridian.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Stomach Channel Excess:<\/strong> ST 44\u2014I chose this point because it&#8217;s great for clearing heat from the channel and also because it&#8217;s great for bringing energy back downward.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> <\/span>A few extra great points I like.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>To calm her mind:<\/strong> Yin Tang<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>To help all the other points work better:<\/strong>\u00a0 Shen Men on the ear.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-15219\" src=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Woman-smiling5-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"Woman smiling5\" width=\"369\" height=\"245\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Woman-smiling5-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Woman-smiling5-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 369px) 100vw, 369px\" \/><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Immediately After Treatment<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>While she was on the table, she calmed down. Two hours after treatment she sent me this text message:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I&#8217;m doing so much better. My circumstances haven&#8217;t changed, but I feel in control, my mind is clear and I&#8217;m able to cope. Luckily, she knew when to call.
