What a horrible combination.<\/p>\n<p>This patient was nervous, yet hopeful that acupuncture would help.<\/p>\n<h4><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/pain-circle.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-11485 \" src=\"http:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/pain-circle.jpg\" alt=\"pain-circle\" width=\"301\" height=\"301\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/pain-circle.jpg 403w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/pain-circle-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.miridiatech.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/pain-circle-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 301px) 100vw, 301px\" \/><\/a>What I accomplished in the first visit:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Built a relationship<\/li>\n<li>Graph Analysis<\/li>\n<li>Explained how the pain made total sense according to channel theory<\/li>\n<li>Report of Findings<\/li>\n<li>Set up a series of 6 visits<\/li>\n<li>Treatment<\/li>\n<li>Some pain relief<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Email I received after the FIRST visit:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Hello, Kimberly:<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em>\u00a0<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em>Thanks for the report, it was very informative. I will take this along with me to my new doctor that I\u2019m scheduled to see, July 5th. <\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em>\u00a0<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em>I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed meeting you and how kind you were to me. But, unfortunately&#8230;this being my first experience with acupuncture, it was <span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">a lot more intense than I was anticipating<\/span>.<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em>\u00a0<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em>I\u2019ve given myself a few days to think about it so that my decision wasn\u2019t a rash one and I\u2019ve decided that <span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">acupuncture is not for me<\/span>. <span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">It caused me a lot of anxiety<\/span> and that is NOT what I need right now. I don\u2019t think it would be wise for me to continue.<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em>\u00a0<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em>So, can you please <span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">cancel my next five follow-up visits<\/span> that we scheduled and put them on hold for a while.\u00a0 Maybe after I see my doctor, I will have more answers about what\u2019s going on with my face\/jaw\/teeth pain and in getting to the bottom of that, maybe be able to relax a little more and be able to absorb the acupuncture treatments a little better.<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em>\u00a0<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em>Thank you SO MUCH, once again. I really think you are wonderful and I wish things were different for me right now. If you\u2019d like to call me and discuss this, I would be happy to talk to you&#8230;<span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">maybe you have OTHER alternatives that wouldn\u2019t be as invasive<\/span>.<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em>\u00a0<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em>Sincerely,<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em>\u00a0<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em>XXXXXXX<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h4>What about you?<\/h4>\n<p>How many patients begin treatment but don&#8217;t ever come back because needles freaked them out? This happens in my clinic every now and again. <em>*Not to mention, the number of prospective patients who won&#8217;t even walk into the office because they are afraid of needles!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Do you have lasers in your clinic? I&#8217;m so glad I do.<\/p>\n<p>I called this patient and reassured her that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I do<\/span> have &#8220;OTHER alternatives&#8221; to needle treatment.
