I am an acupuncturist and herbalist who was first introduced to the AcuGraph a few years ago. I originally thought it was a gimmicky substitute for TCM diagnosis and treatment. I took advantage of the 30-day free trial period to prove that AcuGraph was a sham. I was wrong. I am still using it today.
I have found it to be an invaluable tool during an Oriental Medical exam, giving a patient an evidence-based statistic that validates my tongue and pulse findings. The uncanny accuracy of the Energy Cycle Graph matching a patient's diurnal energy, fatigue, and sleep patterns surprises every patient. From a practitioner's standpoint, it is important to convert a patient at the end of their initial treatment plan to a maintenance or wellness plan. I have found that comparing PIE Charts taken every 8 or so treatments graphically demonstrates a patient's progress, and my conversion rate has literally doubled. Patients love to see their progress graphed visually and the AcuGraph makes it easy.
In other words, AcuGraph is a wonderful tool to help bring patients into treatment or to help convert them to longer term care. However, my life purpose is not to increase my patient load, but to help create a better planet and healthier people living on it. When my treatment plan isn't helping a patient reach their goals, I have found that following the recommended AcuGraph treatments almost always brings the success I have been missing. Sometimes I wonder who is in that little black box.

Since I have brought the AcuGraph into my practice, I have seen my patient retention rate skyrocket! My patients are so interested in seeing how their “energetic body” actually works. Before using the AcuGraph, my consultation times were around 30 minutes with treatment explanations, etc. Now, I let the AcuGraph do it for me and I'm down to 10–15 minute consults and an extra 2–3 hours each day to see patients. I have been doing acupuncture for nearly 30 years. I have used electronic measurement for that entire time. Through exhaustive work I figured out all of the details of the measurements [yin/yang, right/left, five elements, averages, horary, and on and on.] All of these factors had to be figured by hand and were very time consuming but extremely necessary.
I have searched for years to find a system that could make this process more effective. While there are many programs available, none were up to par when taking into account all the factors that I was used to doing by hand. Dear AcuGraph, THANK YOU, THANK YOU and THANK YOU. I am thanking you 3 three times because good things happen in threes and I now own AcuGraph 3. In December 2007, I was state board certified in Arizona for Acupuncture and I was unsure how to proceed in introducing my patients to Acupuncture. I had the AcuGraph 2 which was great, but upgrading to the AcuGraph 3 has made a huge difference in my practice.
Last month, we promoted acupuncture exams and treatment by asking patients “What was their CHI number?”. Immediately, I had patients and their friends making appointments to be examined by the AcuGraph 3 to get their CHI number, or as your company states it: your P.I.E. score. Explaining the patient imbalances with a single number makes life easier for both the patient and me. I received my AcuGraph 3 just in time to test it out at the second annual Health Fair hosted by DirecTV here in Missoula. I knew there were a fair amount of employees who would meander in and out over the course of 7 hours. With this knowledge, I hoped to be able to test 20-30 people with the screening mode of the AcuGraph 3.
Six and and a half hours and 88 tested employees later, I was able to get my first break! The lines never ceased, making my booth the most visited--by far. I bought the AcuGraph a while back but never had a chance to use it in a health fair. I just got back from my first experience with AcuGraph at a health fair and all I can tell you is WOW....I am exhausted!!!!
I was busy from the time I set up to 30 minutes past the end. The line was going out to the middle of the hallway and thank God I took an assistant (as you had recommended at the seminar) because I wouldn't have even had a chance to even drink some water, if she hadn't handed it to me.

I was very sick and had to complete an acupuncture class in order to obtain my acupunture certification. I had a fever, sore throat, and a moderate to severe upper respiratory infection. I was totally exhausted but had to fly from Washington state to Missouri to attend my class.

“It was a spontaneous awakening!!”
Just two days ago, after hours, we had an emergency visit from a new patient who had to be driven 100 miles round trip over a mountain pass in inclement weather. When he presented for care, it was obvious why he needed to be driven. His face was pallid, he could hardly hold his eyes open and his facial muscles were wincing with apparent pain.
His care in our clinic had been for Chiropractic only, so the Doctor worked on him with a variety of Chiropractic techniques including physio therapy and cold laser without immediate results. It was concerning to me to see him in such a condition, and out of curiosity I asked what brought him to such a state of health. He explained that 25 years ago, after two very serious neck injuries, the medical professionals implanted radioactive isotopes in his spine. Since that time, he rarely has a day that is pain free, but his profession demands his daily presence.
At this point, I suggested to him that I would like to perform an AcuGraph exam. There was no hesitance on his part as this man wanted to surmount his problem. The AcuGraph exam revealed a TERRIBLY LOW chart. As a layman, he could see he had a problem and was willing to continue with more treatment. I continued with acupuncture as recommended by the AcuGraph, and then we finished with Chiropractic as recommended by the AcuGraph as well.
VOILA! It was a spontaneous awakening!! His eyes opened wide, his color returned to normal, and he exclaimed ‘YOU GOT IT’. It was a jaw dropping experience to witness! His driver was astounded and could hardly believe her eyes. He repeated over and over before he left the office, his profound gratitude.
Why am I impressed? I have used the AcuGraph software since 2000, but this new program is incredible. Time and time again it proves its indisputable reliability in health assessment. With the AcuGraph program I’ve had great results with all my patients, but this one took the “isotoping off the cake!”

I went to Acupuncture school to learn a technical skill. I was neither in search of my inner child, nor did I wake up from my morning meditation and say to myself “Gee, I think I will get my chi one with the universe – I will become an Acupuncturist.” Although I was fascinated with Acupuncture, and considered it thousands of years ahead of its time, I was totally turned off by levels of kookiness involved in certain types of “Holistic Healing.” It seemed to me like whoever picked up the hippie beads became a healer and whoever had a strong opinion about the healthcare system became a Guru and an advocate of their own soap box.
But wait a minute…people who showed up at Acupuncture clinics for treatments were normal everyday people. They didn’t sit and contemplate the Tao all day, they had to have real jobs in order to afford Acupuncture. These people needed help from a real professional with real skills; they didn’t want to necessarily become so “Holistic” themselves. Hippie beads were not the answer for them. They didn’t care to be bombarded with extreme talk that wasn’t necessarily part of their understanding of the world. In fact, most never even had Tofu. Acupuncture fit the picture perfectly!
With so many people needing my services, I was set! All I had to do was become really good at this Acupuncture stuff! However as I found out later, there is more to running a practice. Being good is only the half of it. Running a practice has been a learning experience, sort of a test by fire. After nearly ten years of going at it, I can honestly say: Building a practice is not a rocket science. Nobody comes in, you are out of business. More come in and few leave, you prosper. Finishing Acupuncture school is a start, working harder than anybody you know keeps things going, but unless you are keeping your patients, you are just spinning your wheels.
Yes, the quality of individual visits is very important, but you must also have a retention plan for those coming in the door – otherwise your practice is a sinking ship sooner or later. I have tried everything to build my practice and so far nothing has worked as good as AcuGraph when it comes to helping me keep patients!!! In doing a patient consultation your time is limited, and most patients are not ready to receive an hour long TCM lecture. AcuGraph makes patient education easy. As patients view their exam results and progress, they understand the need for continuous treatments and longer treatment plans. You get fewer objections, and more cooperation. Real kick is that most patients are willing to bring their families and friends so they can experience AcuGraph. So referrals are as easy as asking.
Like Acupuncture, AcuGraph is way ahead of its time. Every upgrade gets better and better. Most likely, a few hundred years down the road, AcuGraph will be remembered as a cornerstone in spreading Acupuncture as a health care modality to everyday westerners. I strongly believe that any acupuncturist who deals with the general public must use AcuGraph, otherwise they deny themselves practice stability and deny their clients the best possible service. I upgraded every time there has been a new version of Acugraph and I will keep on doing so as long as I am in practice. I am a customer for life.

I opened my first office over 3 years ago in a very large city center of 1 million people. After 3 years of hard work I was seeing about 35 patients per week.
